M.J. Banks was born and raised in Reading, Pennsylvania and is currently living in the greater Reading area. She came from a working class family with an older sister and brother with whom she shared a close bond. She attended parochial school for 12 years and college for two years but discontinued her education in order to spend more time with her son and daughter.

She was employed for many years in the fashion industry as a cost accountant, and a commodities buyer for the textile and paper industries.  She earned certifications in Purchasing Management and Customer Service Management. She eventually decided to leave her management position at a paper mill in order to pursue her dream to write a novel. Her dream materialized with the help Masthof Press, who published the Coming Of Angels series.

Working as a volunteer was always important to her. She was a member of Mayor Shirk’s Youth Advisory Council in Reading, a member of the 17th and Cotton Playground Association, and was the Financial Secretary for East Reading Swimming Association. During the latter part of 2015 through 2016, she volunteered as a friendly visitor to terminally ill patients for Heartland Hospice Services.

Autism is a cause that is dear to her heart. A member of her family has autism, and she has dedicated her first book to all those with autism. Her goal is to sell enough books to raise money for causes related to autism.
